- Title : Development of High Compression Ratio (HCR) CI Engine fuelled with Second Generation Bio-ethanol.
- Duration : 2019-2021
- Summary :
Compression ratio (CR) is one of the important parameters in compression ignition (CI) engine which affects the in-cylinder combustion characteristics such as combustion duration, ignition delay, rate of heat release rate (HRR), peak in-cylinder pressure etc. Auto-ignition approach in CI engines lead to higher engine efficiency and therefore these are one of the prime power generation units over SI engines. Recent advances and developments led to the research and utilization of ethanol in CI engine. The proposed work covers the development of an engine for the combustion pure alcohol and to perform a laboratory engine experiment to investigate and optimize several combustion parameters such as ignition delay, combustion duration, heat release rate etc.
