IIT Bhilai launches e-Masters degree program

Currently, IIT Bhilai launches the following three online e-Masters programs:

1. e-Masters in Applied Mechatronics & Robotics
2. e-Masters in Data Science & Data Analytics
3. e-Masters in Advanced Electrical Vehicle Systems

General details of these three e-Masters programs

Program requirements and general structure:

• Core Courses: 12 Credits
• Electives Courses: 12 Credits + 4 credits if Campus immersion program not chosen
• Campus Immersion Program: 4 Credits (optional)
• Project: 8 Credits
• Total Credits: minimum 36 Credits

Duration:

• Duration of the program will be 2 calendar years/ min. 4 semesters. The nominal load per semester is 9 credits.
• However, in each semester course credits registration can be min. 6 credits and max. 12 credits in permission with the coordination committee members’ approval.
• The program should be completed within a maximum of 3 calendar years/ 6 semesters.
• Batch size for each course (tentative): Min - 60 students, Max - 200 students.

Eligibility criteria:

The applicants can be working professionals as well as non-working students with fresh degrees depending on course to course (Degree should be completed).

Applicants should have a B.Tech / BE /BS/ M.Tech / MSc (4 semester program) / MCA (4-semester program) / MS Degree (min. 4 semester) / equivalent degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks or 5.5/10 CPI. In the case of the candidate belonging to SC, ST, or Persons with Disability (PwD) category, this is relaxed to 50% or equivalent 5.0 CGPA/CPI.

For MCA/MSC passed graduates, the percentage score of MCA/MSC would be considered. For BE/BTech Engineering graduates without PG specialization, the percentage score of the undergraduate degree would be considered. For a post-graduation in the Engineering field of study, PG score qualification can be considered.

No GATE Score required

Selection process will be scheduled post-counseling & application process, depending on the number of eligible applications as per seat availability for the program. This entire process will be online.

TeamLease Edtech, Mumbai has been roped in as our partner for support of online platform, pre-selection of candidates as per our norms, use of their state-of-the-art online platform for delivery of content and exams as well as fee collection. TeamLease Edtech, Mumbai will be responsible regarding all financial matters of applicants/students.

TeamLease Edtech will verify the documents and may seek clarification from candidates for any ambiguity and incompleteness.

All applications will be reviewed by the IIT Bhilai’s e-cell (online courses) governing committee of the respective program/course and if an application is not found suitable, then IIT Bhilai will ask TeamLease Edtech to reject the application and TeamLease should refund the deposit given by candidate in full (except any non-refundable deposit i.e. application fee).

Selection of a candidate will be done based on eligibility criteria, applicant’s overall academic credentials, relevant experience (if applicable), and performance in written test/interviews (if applicable). IIT Bhilai’s e-cell (online courses) governing committee of the respective program reserves the right of the selection of a candidate.

Offer letters for selected candidates will be sent by IIT Bhilai through email only.

IIT Bhilai may offer campus immersion as per requirement for the respective program and IIT Bhilai will offer e-alumni status as per institute norms.
