With a focus on Global excellence and local relevance, we strive to address modern challenges in materials science, and metallurgical engineering. Our department offers a robust academic framework, including B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programs. We also provide flexible pathways like dual-degree conversions, ensuring students can expand their expertise. We are committed to nurturing future leaders—equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to excel in both academia and industry.
Beyond academics, our department fosters a dynamic research environment. Our faculty members are engaged in pioneering research across diverse fields— Materials Technology, Energy Storage and Conversion, Functional Materials, High Entropy Oxides, Electron Microscopy, Alloy Design and Development, High-Temperature Deformation, Metal-Matrix composites, etc. With strong interdisciplinary collaborations and state-of-the-art facilities, we empower students to contribute meaningfully to scientific advancements. With well-equipped laboratories and interdisciplinary collaborations, we aim to push the boundaries of materials science and metallurgical engineering.
