IIT Bhilai invites applications from highly motivated and research-oriented scholars for the Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) position under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT: Phase II'. The applicant must have a proven track record in Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) and IT/IT Enabled Services (IT/ITES) sectors as a part of PhD Thesis work established through their research publications and recognitions. If the post-doctoral fellow is availing any other fellowship, he/she is not eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. The PDF applicant should be an Indian citizen.
2. The PDF applicant must have obtained PhD degree from a recognized University /Institute with first class (in terms of grades, etc.) in all preceding levels and a good academic record throughout.
3. The PDF applicant should have completed PhD within the last 5 years before the last date of submission of application to IIT Bhilai
4. The upper age limit for the fellowship is 40 years on the date of submission of application to IIT Bhilai
5. The PDF applicants should not have completed their PhD degree form IIT Bhilai.
6. The PDF applicants currently holding regular employment will not be considered. However, scientists or researchers in temporary positions at academic or research institutions may be considered, provided they relinquish their existing roles upon selection for the fellowship.
7. The research proposal of the PDF applicant, to be submitted to IIT Bhilai , should define clear objectives, outcomes and deliverables against the award.

Nature and Duration of Support:

1. The fellowship is purely a temporary assignment and is tenable for a period of 01 year.
2. The award will be for one year initially and extendible based on performance review by PhD Cell, DIC, MeitY.
3. Contingency Grant can be used for minor equipment, consumables and similar items relevant to the research work.
4. There is no provision for providing research personnel support under the scheme. The fellow is expected to undertake the research objectives by himself/herself during the entire duration of the fellowship.

1. Application fee of 100 INR is applicable for SC/ST/PwD/female candidates and 200 INR is applicable for other candidates.
2. Payment of application fee must be made through State Bank Collect only. Candidate shall visit SBI Collect, for fees payment (SBI collect link is provided in the portal).

In the SBI collect portal please select category as “Educational Institutions” and search for “IIT BHILAI” then you will be redirected to “Enter payment details” where you need to select the relavant payment category (Visvesvaraya PDF App Fee)as applicable to you and complete the fee payment. After making payment, SBI Collect will generate payment reference number (viz. DU12345678), candidate has to retain a copy of sbi i-collect receipt for any future reference.
